Opinion Line Extra (June 16)
All this blather about global warming is just a bunch of hot air.
Whenever I see the Sierra Club mentioned in an article in the paper, I’m immediately dubious about whatever the subject of said article might be.
We knew our children were being indoctrinated by liberal teachers at an early age. They came home from school with ideas foreign to us. Then we read leftist beliefs in their textbooks, tests and homework.
The Chinese have hacked into our government computers again. This is embarrassing. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Michelle Obama’s nephew’s best friend with a two-year degree from Chicago Tech is head of IT security at the White House.
It is inherently true that we are “on the eve of destruction” if 10 percent of the population would vote for someone like Hillary Clinton.
Those who voted for Barack Obama were no doubt as moved by Hillary Clinton’s trials of adolescent life and her feigned desire to “champion” the middle class. I was nearly brought to tears myself, until I recalled she spent an estimated $3 million on her daughter’s wedding.
I will never vote for a politician who claps for herself.
Well, they have done it again. Gov. Sam Brownback and his minions have ignored the elephant in the room and chosen to harass the mice. Last one out of Kansas, please turn off the lights.
The recent vote for tax increases is why the minute I retire I am moving to Texas. This Legislature has no backbone. I grew up in Texas and could not believe all the taxes here. I mean, really – a food tax?
From now on, before I buy anything from a small business in Kansas, I will find out whether it pays income taxes. If it does not, I will take my business elsewhere.
Sam Brownback was tearing up Thursday as he was threatening the lawmakers concerning the budget. On Friday Rep. John Whitmer was crying while justifying his vote. The citizens of Kansas are the ones who should be crying.
The Republican contribution to modern politics was on display in Topeka. When your policies and ideas can’t stand on their own merit, resort to extortion. Brownback, Ted Cruz and their ilk cut a sordid swath in history.
Let’s hope with Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s new powers, he can find out why Republicans keep winning elections in Kansas.
Be what the liberal calls a “hater.” Be a Christian.
To the reader who expressed dismay at The Eagle’s front-page picture of a Kansas barn on June 10: You obviously avoided the inconvenience of actually reading the article. Had you done so, I doubt you’d be spewing such nonsense.
