Opinion Line Extra (June 12)

Your attention please: Will the owner of the green Yugo with the Obama-Biden bumper sticker please move it? Your bumper sticker has expired.

Obama says the Pentagon has not given him optional plans to deal with ISIS. Then he proceeds to tell us what’s in the plans that he doesn’t have. Another “you can keep your doctor” moment.

George Bush took the country to war on a false pretense – weapons of mass destruction – and now they take issue with Hillary Clinton’s honesty.

It would have saved a great deal of time if all the Republican candidates for president had signaled their intentions to run by crowding into a little car, driving to Fox News headquarters, jumping out, and running around in circles.

I don’t care if the Duggars are Christians or not. It is the deed itself that I have a problem with.

I stood in line at the grocery store while the lady in front of me used food stamps to pay for her groceries while she was texting on her iPhone 6 Plus phone. What is wrong with this picture?

The Kansas judiciary should flex its muscle by striking down all current tax statutes, no explanation necessary. The judiciary’s popularity would soar, enabling it to then support itself through crowdfunding. And the legislative branch would be left to control the purse strings of an empty purse.

Poor Sam Brownback, taking all that heat in the newspapers. He is only doing what Charles Koch elected him to do.

Why do I get the feeling that state Sen. Les Donovan has been negotiating for tax deals that benefit his car dealership? Tax businesses, especially liquor stores; they should pay their fair share. If they raise their prices, we can choose not to buy from them.

First-term Sen. Michael O’Donnell said he didn’t want his “fingerprints” all over a bill that raises taxes. It’s scary that such a youngster, blinded by the supply-side lie, could be the future of Kansas politics. The Kansas he grew up in, prosperous and fair, may cease to exist.

All of the Sedgwick County commissioners and the Legislature must be voted out of office. The incompetency is staggering.

Other people’s lousy driving doesn’t justify your own. There is no excuse for tailgating, period. Just remember: If you rear-end someone, it’s your fault. And the speed limit is just that, not a mandate to go that speed. Public roads are not your personal speedway.

The Wichita police need to be making their presence known more on the street, issuing tickets to some of the many dangerous drivers who speed, never use turn signals and run red lights. Think of the revenue we could make.

To the mail carriers who are being attacked by vicious dogs: Kansas has an open-carry law.
