Opinion Line Extra (Oct. 1)

In the 1850s, bleeding Kansas resembled a modern-day Middle Eastern country with neighbors killing neighbors. It could happen again. Tell the talking heads and anonymous ad-funding groups to tone down the hate and fearmongering. United we stand, divided we fall.

The newspapers around the state are in full campaign mode to get Democrats elected wherever possible.

It’s amazing that optometrists aren’t flocking to Kansas in record numbers. With so much political tunnel vision and shortsightedness in our state, they could make a financial killing. And there is a never-ending supply of those needing corrective vision.

If you are falling into the Paul Davis narrative, I highly question your intelligence.

If this country is going to hell in a handbasket, and you have been carrying the basket for 30 years, then it is time to put it down.

Our country needs help. We need to be saved from the Democrats who will destroy our country.

Who is Pat Roberts running against – President Obama, Hillary Clinton or Greg Orman? Hard to tell from his commercials.

Roberts likening Orman to Harry Reid is like the pot calling the kettle black. Roberts is not any different from Reid, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi. He used to be a problem solver in the past, but somehow became an absolute party hack obstructionist lately.

It’s not how Orman votes that will determine the Senate. It’s who he decides to caucus with. If he decides Democrat, which he will, it could give them control with Harry Reid.

Our economic and political systems are both oriented to short-term goals. Businesses are obsessed with showing a profit the next quarter. Politicians are obsessed with winning the next election. Neither takes the view of what is good for the company or country in the long run.

Democrats embrace quotas, treating people with regard to race, creed and color. Republicans believe equality means equal opportunity for individuals. Democrats use government power to enforce results. The philosophies of the two parties are miles apart. No wonder our nation is so deeply divided.

Whatever happened to “the buck stops here”? This includes the White House.

Obama says the ISIS problem is the fault of his security chief, James Clapper, and his incorrect intelligence information. Then why hasn’t he been fired?

I am concerned that I have not seen or heard any Muslim leaders in the United States or around the world denouncing the actions of the Islamist terrorist groups.

Want to be a big-time scammer? Pretend to be a coach, get fired twice, and collect $25 million for not coaching. Or, pretend to be an athletic director, hire and fire the non-coach, then pay the $25 million of other people’s money to the non-coach.

I’m thinking before you can hunt, you have to have been hunted.
