Our president said he was going to bring us all together. We just didn’t know it was going to be in the breadline.
It would be easier for everyone if those who identify as Republican would announce if they have decided they are not running for president.
The only reason the Democrats are letting Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley run for president is to display Hillary Clinton as the conservative of the bunch during the debates.
The U.S. should build into every tank, truck, etc., a self-destruct mechanism that can be used to destroy or disable the weapons in case they fall into the wrong hands.
Iran is the primary source of funding for the terrorists. President Obama should end his phony treaty talks and impose very stringent sanctions on it.
The governor and his cohorts believe those lower on the economic ladder should pay taxes and 330,000 people higher up the economic ladder should pay none. Then they will turn around and say the Democrats are engaged in class warfare. Unbelievable.
If you look at the governor’s latest tax plan you will see that it is fair and balanced, just like Fox News.
I saved money buying my car Tuesday rather than waiting until the sales tax goes up. But now I have to pay property tax on it. Maybe I could start a small business and use my tax-free profits to help pay for it. Do I hear someone saying “tax rebellion”?
I say “poe-tay-toe,” you say “pah-tah-toe.” I call it a tax shaft, Kansas Legislature calls it a tax shift.
A big deal has been made in Topeka about “federal overreach.” But the same concern isn’t given to anyone the state governs. It is time that Wichita and other cities sue the Legislature because of “state overreach.”
Boeing says it needs the Export-Import Bank, which provides loan guarantees for its foreign airplane buyers. Let Boeing provide this assistance instead of the American taxpayer. Boeing management and shareholders can make do with slightly smaller earnings.
The Blueprint for Regional Economic Growth is missing one crucial initiative – quality of life. Improving quality of life is required for economic growth.
It was great to see the photo in the Sunday Eagle showing so many on bikes. It was shocking, however, to see among all those people so few wearing helmets. That’s a horrible modeling of unsafe biking for kids to see and participate in.
Festival of Broadway at Riverfest was so great. We have such wonderful, talented performers here in Wichita.
