Our state legislators should not worry about not getting re-elected because of how they may vote on the state budget issues. They could always get jobs as clowns in a circus.
Much like Tommy Tutone (“867-5309/Jenny”), Sen. Ty Masterson is a one-hit wonder. He has one idea – cut schools. Are you kidding me? I wish he would have stayed on vacation.
Do you believe Senate President Susan Wagle still believes Arthur Laffer is a God destined to solve the financial problems of Kansas?
Transparency is not usually the outcome of a corrupt government, as we can all appreciate recently.
Democrats are good at campaigning and getting elected. They are really bad at governing.
Regarding a comment about politicians and drivers: Turning left wouldn’t be difficult, dangerous or impossible if you would learn how to use the middle lane like you are supposed to.
If Republicans are proposing doing away with tax exemptions for nonprofits like schools, hospitals and charitable donations, it is time to also do away with tax exemptions for churches. If one nonprofit has to pay taxes, they all should pay.
Business tax increases, like all costs, are passed on to consumers unless the market won’t bear higher prices. Then owners have to eat the tax increase. Businesses shut down when owners cannot absorb higher taxes.
We see Rep. Mike Pompeo often, but after the election Sen. Pat Roberts went home to Washington, D.C., and we never see him. Why was he voted back in?
Only a clown, or somebody too young to know better, would think the Texas flooding has anything to do with climate change.
Bob Schieffer had to call out the media about being complicit in not reporting all of the facts about Obama when he first ran for president. Report the news on Hillary Clinton before the upcoming election. Do what’s right for the country, not the press.
I can assure a letter writer (“Misconceptions about teachers,” June 3 Letters to the Editor) that when my 9-year-old daughter started singing praise for Jimmy Carter, she did not pick it up at home. It took a letter to the principal to stop the indoctrination.
Has Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell consider it’s likely the new USA Freedom Act is a huge victory for Edward Snowden, because Snowden exposed the truths about NSA spying on U.S. citizens?
Costco going in at your congested intersection is a good thing – more money to be taxed, good for the city and county. Don’t waste time complaining about what is an inconvenience for you. The greater good is what we need.
Now that Costco is here I can hardly wait for a Trader Joe’s to open.
The news makes the new terminal at Mid-Continent sound so great it makes a person want to leave.
