No need to feel sorry for Charlie Weis
Here is how out of whack college athletics has become: Fired University of Kansas head football coach Charlie Weis will be paid more money not to coach than an average American earns in a lifetime of actual work. Weis has about two years remaining on his five-year, $12.5 million contract. As a result, KU will have to pay him about $5.625 million, in monthly installments through December 2016, The Eagle reported. Weis also has been receiving about $2.1 million a year from Notre Dame since the school fired him in 2009. Those payments will continue through next year. Most Americans would love to be fired from those jobs. – Phillip Brownlee
