Karla Burns and the Wichita Symphony provided an outstanding Riverfest concert Friday night. Moving it inside, because of the weather threats, made the sound quality even more enjoyable. Let’s schedule it inside again next year.
The River Festival food court should be located outside of the area where buttons are required. The vendors would make more money that way, and perhaps could charge a little less.
Smoking was everywhere at the first day of Riverfest. At the food court, it was one bite along with two or three puffs of smoke. Please, smokers, it is OK to destroy yourself, but leave me and the children out of it.
Though the parade was good, it could have done without the Midian Shriners Keystone Kops. Throwing water on watchers, children and babies – how immature is that? Shriners helping children took on a new meaning to a lot of people.
Would the individual who attended the Riverfest parade carrying a small child in one arm with a pit bull on a leash please report to the mental health clinic? You need some serious help.
There is an effective solution to the problem of dog attacks on mail deliverers: Stop all residential walking mail deliveries, and require either centralized (preferable) or curbside mailboxes. Residential walking routes are inefficient and outdated. Exceptions might be made for residents documented annually as unable to get outside their houses.
Martin O’Malley is all the Democrats could come up with to pretend to run against Hillary Clinton? If Hillary wins, he’ll get a cushy figurehead appointment for his service to her.
Came home to Wichita for a visit. Found a vast right-wing wasteland littered with bad policies inspired by a false ideology believed in by political fundamentalists. What a shame. Kansas used to be a good state.
Gov. Sam Brownback continues to shelter businesses from income taxes at the expense of the middle class, schools and nonprofits. Where are the jobs and revenue he promised? Perhaps his true motive is to secure businesses’ financial support for his future political aspirations.
Legislators need to gear up and do what is right with the tax code in order to take care of the deficit. Be ready to override any Brownback veto.
Would someone please define “nonessential worker”?
It’s interesting to see Disneyland turning 60. However, many of us will never have enough money to go. They continue to raise the prices. I don’t think that was Walt Disney’s original intention.
