More than 22,000 registrations stalled over citizenship papers
The number of Kansas voter registrations “suspended” for failure to provide citizenship documents is a bit of a moving target. Recent media reports have put the total at more than 18,000. But Kay Curtis, spokeswoman for Secretary of State Kris Kobach, said this week that “22,086 have begun but not completed their voter registration, until proof of citizenship is submitted.” That’s a lot of would-be voters in limbo, especially in a campaign season with the potential for some photo finishes. – Rhonda Holman
