Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 26)
Once this election is over we need to get ready to vote “no” on legalizing marijuana.
Eric Holder resigns – it took long enough. I never thought he would. I wonder what kind of skeletons we will find in that closet.
I had a lot of laughs watching “The Roosevelts” on PBS. The things the Republicans say about Obama now is what they said about Franklin Roosevelt during his presidency. In nearly a hundred years, the Republicans haven’t thought of an original thing to say. Politics never change.
The Eagle should stop printing lies in the Opinion Line. President Obama pulled U.S. troops out of Iraq in accordance with the status of forces agreement signed by President Bush in 2008. People are entitled to their own opinions, but facts are facts. Look it up.
To the person who said “the Iraqis practically begged us to stay”: I want whatever you’re smoking.
There’s no doubt that raising the minimum wage will cause significant job losses. These losses will be concentrated in those groups that proponents of a wage hike claim to be trying to help. Raising the minimum wage is a terrible idea because it would be so predictably counterproductive.
I’d swear that every time Sen. Pat Roberts talks his nose gets longer, just like Pinocchio in those Geico commercials. I even put my glasses on and it was even bigger. And Sen. John McCain is not far behind.
If the home that Pat Roberts bought is in some other state, he should be running for the Senate there.
Greg Orman needs to be open about his Democratic ties. The Democrats would not have dropped their candidate and refused to appoint a new one without an agreement with him. He needs to be honest about whom he will caucus with.
How ludicrous that any newspaper in Kansas that dares criticize Brownback or Kobach gets called a “liberal rag” by Republicans. Except for tabloids, newspapers try to print the facts. Maybe the partisan critics just can’t handle the truth.
Shame on the rude woman at the Brownback rally who took a parking space reserved for business use even after she was politely asked not to park in that spot. Thanks to her, our elderly disabled client had to walk across the parking lot with his sick little dog.
Conservatives look at liberals as being misguided. Liberals look at conservatives as morons.
I do not need a professor from any college telling me how dangerous texting and talking on a cellphone is while driving. All I have to do is drive from one side of Wichita on Kellogg and back to see it. I change lanes at least three times a trip.
