Why are state leaders wasting time and money pursuing a casino in southeast Kansas? Haven’t they watched the news about how many bigger and better-backed casinos all over the country are closing their doors?
Can anyone explain how drastically reducing state revenues results in increased state revenues? The Laffer curve implies a mathematical formula to achieve the result. What is it? Don’t hold your breath for answers. Kansas Republicans don’t have any.
Did anyone really think that Hillary Clinton would release any of her e-mails that could get her in trouble? Welcome to the real world, folks.
So it’s outrageous that Hillary used a private cellphone for public affairs, but a laughing matter for our governor and other high-ranking officials to do so? Looks like the “new” GOP has a double-standard problem, including “it’s OK to tax the poor and middle class but not the rich” problem.
If you watched “60 Minutes” recently, you know roads, bridges and railroads need funding for major repairs. Mostly Republicans, lacking courage, have failed to provide a simple solution: Adequately raise gas taxes.
Democrats talk about a more progressive society. Why would we want that? In this usage, progressive usually means immoral.
The minute the authorities realized there were no WMDs, I knew the war was a mistake. Nothing good ever comes by basing a decision on a lie. Didn’t Bush and Cheney learn from their parents one of life’s lessons?
President Bush did know there were no WMDs in Iraq. The U.N. weapons inspectors said so. But the government blew them off and discredited them, and started the war anyway. That’s the tragedy of Iraq.
Was the Walgreens Red Nose Day making fun of its cause?
Marijuana should be legal. We need to start by ending the utterly failed and insanely expensive “war on drugs.” At this point, it’s merely a facade for the government to act unconstitutionally and continue pushing us into even more of a police state.
So you think we’ll not have to police and incarcerate after marijuana is legalized? Yeah, that’ll work. We’ll need more police and jails for all of the other laws being broken, to say nothing of the cost of more social services.
Leonard Pitts writes a good column in my opinion – right on the money every time. Now, Cal Thomas – the right-side spin is too dogmatic.
Conservative columnists Charles Krauthammer and Cal Thomas point out the errors of the left and leave it at that, while Pitts eviscerates and skewers every conservative for every thought, word and deed.
If Krauthammer thinks Bush’s Iraq fiasco was a success, what would a failure look like? The end of the world?
