Dole says Roberts ‘moderate,’ Orman no Bob Dole
Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole defended Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., saying he thinks Roberts is “flexible” in his political views. “I think he has been a little more conservative because of his primary,” Dole told ABC News. “I’ve worked with Pat a lot, and I think he’s demonstrated that he is moderate and largely in line with Kansas voters.” Meanwhile, Dole said Roberts’ main opponent, Greg Orman, is a Democrat masquerading as an independent. “Someone said to me that Orman said he wanted to be a politician like Bob Dole,” Dole said. “I’m Bob Dole, and I can tell you that Greg Orman is not Bob Dole.” – Phillip Brownlee
