Lindsey Graham? I’d vote for a Lindsay Lohan-Heather Graham ticket before I’d trust Lindsey Graham to run the country.
The president has some rather twisted ideas of the way things are and should be. Frankly, some of his ideas are un-American.
Earthquake victims in Nepal have nothing. People in Wichita are fussing about what color of white paint to put on a wall.
On Monday I got 17 pieces of mail. Two were bills. Two were statements. Ten were asking me to fill out a form and send money. I know these are mostly worthy causes, but enough is enough. Is there anything like an unlisted mailing address?
Prosecutors are prohibited from bringing a criminal complaint in the absence of probable cause. If the same standard were to apply to the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, the disciplinary complaint pending with the NFL would need to be dismissed for lack of evidence.
I would think that any credible water plan would include stopping the flow of millions of gallons of water to the Gulf of Mexico every time we have a big rain event like we had May 16.
We have had plenty of rain lately with mild temperatures and yet the sprinklers run on, often in the middle of a rainstorm. If our new mayor is serious about a long-term water plan for Wichita, he should push for mandatory rain sensors. They’re long overdue.
I sure am glad Wichita’s leaders “fixed” West Street. Now, after a rain, I no longer need a cruise ship to navigate the waters. I only need a 100 foot-or-larger yacht.
Maize is known for quality schools and quality educational programs. Growth to 7,200 students requires facility expansion and upgrades. With low interest rates and 38 percent state aid, the 1 mill net tax increase (only $23 on a $200,000 home) is an opportunity that should not be overlooked.
Has Maize done a study to determine whether or not the cost of using the YMCA exceeds or is less than the cost of building a natatorium for more than $12 million, with operating costs of $250,000 a year?
It looks like Kansas is headed back to the one-room schoolhouse and opening a poor farm to take care of the citizens who are left out of our governor’s budget.
Anyone ever see a motorcycle going the speed limit? If so, call me at 1-555-Fatchance.
I have so much respect for Kyle Hicks (May 18 Local & State). Congratulations on your degree. Your are an incredible inspiration.
