Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 16)

In the American Revolution, Americans were the head of the spear. Yes, we were aided by other nations, but Americans took the lead. If Middle Eastern people won’t fight for their own interest, they will forever be dominated by others. You can’t help people who won’t help themselves.

People from all corners of the Earth yearn to be free. Yet there are some other people who yearn to dominate others. Because of these basic desires, there will always be conflict. Sad but true.

That Pat Roberts lives in Virginia is not a problem. The idiots he talks to while he’s there are the problem.

Who cares if Greg Orman is a moderate or a conservative, or a closet Democrat? What’s important is that he’s not a Roberts or a Brownback.

Why should Chad Taylor be removed from the ballot for senator? His request is entirely political, as Taylor believes he cannot win and staying on the ballot will split the Democrat vote with Orman.

I think impeachment procedures should be implemented against Kris Kobach for egregious political shenanigans beginning with (but not limited to) manipulating the 2014 election and candidates in furtherance of his compulsion to get Pat Roberts re-elected.

Sorry, Chad Taylor – you can’t simply exit a Senate race because you’re being strong-armed in an attempt to throw the election. You must have a legitimate reason you would be unable to serve. The Kansas Supreme Court would be right to rule against you.

Kobach has been doing what most Kansans want: combating vote fraud and illegal immigration. It’s his critics who have done the politicizing.

In seeing Hillary Clinton in the state of Iowa and listening to her speech, I could tell that she is going to run for president in 2016. My only thought is: What about the four men who died? This was on her watch. How is she going to defend the loss of life of these four men?

If President Obama was a bad as many as the Opinion Line contributors claim, he wouldn’t let you see those opinions published about him in the first place.

Can the government people just collect the back taxes on real estate or have a back tax sale on that real estate, instead of raising the real estate taxes or sales tax on the decent people?

Bradley Fair’s Autumn and Art was a great event, except for those inconsiderate people who felt compelled to bring their dogs. I do not appreciate a strange dog sniffing my leg, as I am fearful what it might try next.

It seems odd now, but there was a time when you could pull into a gas station, pump the gas, and then go in and pay for it.
