Only a bunch of idiots would want me to pay more sales tax so somebody who owns a store doesn’t have to pay income tax. Sounds like good Republicanism at its best.

So our governor doesn’t have any “specific” ideas on how to close the budget gap he created. Typical. Make a mess and leave it to everyone else to clean it up. And have your former staff members act as lobbyists to impede the process.

If you search the term “oligarchy” you will find a picture of our present governor next to it with his tax-eating grin.

The next election should be easy for Kansans to figure out: If Americans for Prosperity is for one guy, then vote for the other guy.

Election time again. Talking about immigration. I am soon to be 65. I’ve heard this for the last 50 years – right along with border security.

Davis Merritt’s column “Social media give mindless speech a free pass” (May 12 Opinion) unwittingly but perfectly reflected the stereotypical liberal response to something with which they happen to disagree: It must be “mindless.”

When columnist Leonard Pitts closes his fist and points a finger at someone and calls them “racist,” I wonder if he ever notices that three fingers are pointing back at him.

Jeb Bush was asked if, knowing what we know now, he would decide to invade Iraq. He stated he would. So basically he would lie to the entire world again about weapons of mass destruction. He has proved to me he’s not presidential material.

President Obama has been very successful with equal opportunity. Our allies and enemies all hate us now. Add Saudi Arabia to the list.

Obama may be the worst foreign affairs president ever. He said ISIS was like junior varsity; a red line was drawn for Syria; Iran would never be allowed the bomb; the tide of war is receding in Iraq; Benghazi; Libya; Bowe Bergdahl; allies rebuffed; and on and on.

Anyone promoting war with Iran or any other country should sign up for the military or make sure their children or grandchildren are signed up. Walk the walk.

Wow. The NFL suspends Tom Brady for offenses not proved but speculated as possible. I suggest he pursue justice in the courts, since the NFL is obviously so biased toward the Patriots.

Funny how a reader was indignant about perceived “smearing” of Tom Brady due to his part in Deflategate, but thinks it reasonable to accuse Obama of petty retaliation because Brady was a White House no-show. Seems to me both instances speak to the true nature of Brady’s character. Unsavory.

Don’t badmouth Wal-Mart employees. Most of them are very intelligent and courteous. Wal-Mart is a great place with good benefits.
