Opinion Line Extra (May 13)

There should be a generic form that people with a basic estate can use for making a will instead of hiring a lawyer.

Westar Energy keeps on increasing our costs for electricity in the name of upgrades and improvements. Is that why we keep on having these power outages on clear, sunny days?

The Sedgwick County Zoo is 1.33 percent of the total county budget. The county should sell naming rights, which should fund 100 percent of their share for years and years.

Surely the evidence of whether tax-free Kansas businesses are adding jobs could be discerned by requiring reporting of employee numbers and total payroll dollars. Seemingly that would have been among basic reporting requirements in the original act.

The Clinton Foundation spends millions helping poor people throughout the world. The Kochs spend millions buying Scott Walker. According to the Republicans, the Clintons are evil and the Kochs are great. Go figure.

If Webster’s Dictionary changed the definition of “charity” to “scam, fraud and influence peddling,” everyone would have a better idea of what the Clinton Foundation really is.
