Opinion Line (Sept. 12)

How petty the actions of passengers throwing fits about reclining airline seats when compared with the heroism of the souls on Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001.


Do you feel as safe now as you did on Sept. 11, 2001? If so, you probably voted for Barack Obama twice and are considering voting for Hillary Clinton. I recommend you check your drinking water.


With ISIS growing in strength politically and militarily daily, I believe we still have an open window, however short, to place boots on the ground over there, or ISIS boots will be on our soil soon. We have the means, but now need the will to get it done.


The responsibility to declare war rests squarely with Congress. Too many members (including those from Kansas) are avoiding a vote on ISIS because it’s an election year. If they won’t fulfill their No. 1 job requirement, they should be fired.


Since there is no draft now, make sure all of you hawks enlist to fight, and have your children enlist, rather than paying others to shed their blood for you.

How to punish Russia for its aggression against Ukraine? I propose excluding the Russians from the Olympics. It would express universal condemnation, and be hard for them to retaliate.


Pity the poor Kansas voter. Apparently he is so politically ignorant he can be manipulated by merely withdrawing a candidate’s name from the ballot.


The decision as to how to vote for the position of U.S. senator is very simple. A vote for anyone other than Republican Sen. Pat Roberts is a vote for the continuation of Harry Reid in his leadership position.


If Kansas politics were the Saturday-morning TV Westerns of my youth, Sam Brownback and Kris Kobach would be the guys in the black hats.


Won’t it be nice when we have a Kansas secretary of state who isn’t constantly suing or being sued?


Paul Davis voted against increased school funding in 2014. Davis will not get my vote.


The reason the zoo always wants a handout for tax money is that it charges outrageous admission prices.
