Opinion Line (May 12)
Loss of constitutional rights is what happens when people fail to pay attention to their government. Sure, you might hate politics, but if you don’t get involved you get the government you don’t want given to you at gunpoint.
The four rules of Kansas (and maybe all) politics: Never admit a mistake. Blame others for all supposed problems. Never disappoint your wealthiest donors. Everything is perception.
If you think education is not important, take a look at the Kansas Legislature.
Recently it appears the most effective road to justice is civil disobedience.
The expensive china in the White House wasn’t good enough, so they spent $362,000 on new. Perhaps they can sell the other expensive dishes to China and pay down some national debt. That is the debt that the Federal Reserve banks keep printing money on, devaluing our dollar.
How is that “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it” working for you?
I will walk out of any business or restaurant if I see a customer with a gun. How would I know if that person is a threat? He may not be a threat, but I can’t tell the difference. Wichita businesses, take note.
Funny that the people who believe God hates gay marriage don’t pay any attention to other things He says He hates, such as people eating shellfish. They should be trying to close down every Red Lobster.
Dold Foods management and employees should be applauded for their recycling program. It is a wonderful thing seeing the pride everyone takes to help our planet.
While Uber was operating in Wichita, I used this service several times and the drivers were friendly, helpful and the vehicles sparkling clean. Never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride.
Am I the only one who remembers when Boeing was going after the tanker contract, one of its advantages was that the new tanker would fit in the existing hangars so there wasn’t any need for the expense of new hangars? How we forget.
Anyone who thinks a special-needs child doesn’t show superior athletic skill and ability to go through a sports program each year needs to think again. The battle they face every day, plus practicing and participating in the games, certainly deserves a letter.
Do the medals given at the Special Olympics take away the meaning from those earned at the Olympics? I’m guessing those who think varsity letters are being watered down didn’t do anything noteworthy after high school.
