Opinion Line Extra (May 4)

Law enforcement should maybe adopt the tactics of the rioters in Ferguson, Baltimore and New York. First execute the alleged criminals and then hold a trial to see if they were correct.

What kind of wimpy rioters are they raising in Baltimore if after several days of pillaging, plundering and attacking the police, they are offended by being labeled with a descriptive adjective? Real rioters wouldn’t care what they are called.

Now we’re debating the word “thug”? What else would call someone who is looting and burning buildings? Mischievous? Annoying? Irresponsible? Please. Throwing rocks out of frustration is one thing. Burning and looting your own neighborhood is another. And black or white, it makes you a thug.

I’ll bet with with tax incentives, we can find new guys to purchase the old IRS building. Perhaps the “Texas Guys,” who will present a grand plan for the building – high-end, Texas-style apartments. Years later we’ll be holding the bag, after the “Texas Guys” are belly-up.

I predict the American economy will never again grow more than an annual average of 2.5 percent. More than 70,000 pages of new regulations every year for the past 10 years, plus Obamacare, have permanently downshifted our economy.

A little bird falls from its nest. It’s tiny, transparent almost, no feathers. Is it OK for me to pull off its little wings and legs? According to abortion proponents, it is OK to do that to a human in the womb, and anyone who objects is anti-woman.

“Every life matters,” said pro-abortion candidate Hillary Clinton. Sound confusing?

Bill and Hillary Clinton smell worse than the stink bait I fish with.

George W. Bush is a great one to criticize Obama’s foreign policy when his policies, both foreign and domestic, were arguably among the worst ever.

Regarding when courts can and should “negate the will of the people”: Marijuana laws don’t discriminate against anyone; bans on gay marriage do. That’s why the Supreme Court must decide.

If we really want good elections where voters have to decide who is the best candidate, Kris Kobach should remove the party designation from the ballot, not make a check mark for a straight party ballot.

Regarding “Analyst: No proof that tax break is aiding jobs” (May 1 Eagle): Wow. How clever of that analyst to figure it out. Could we hire him to solve other difficult questions, like “If I shut my eyes will I be able to see?”

Politicians who continually lie to their voting public are a detriment while politicians who continually ignore their mistakes are delusional. Kansans have both kinds making the decisions for them. How can the “sun keep shining” with that lack of accountability in control?
