Opinion Line (April 30)

There is no excuse for police brutality or rioting against innocent people.

Another Democratic Party-held city, Baltimore, burns because of the inactivity of its leaders. Sound familiar?

Why doesn’t the National Guard load up the thugs and looters in Baltimore and fly them to Nepal to help out the recovery effort?

Everest shaking, ISIS beheading, Baltimore rioting, trillions in debt, weather storming – and president doing a stand-up comedy routine for A-list celebs and mainstream media types.

Instead of constructing a new city library, why doesn’t Wichita offer to buy back the old library building from Fidelity Bank, construct an enclosed walkway over Main Street, and have the library in two historic buildings on the same block?

It’s comical how we allowed our leaders to do away with driver’s education in our schools, and then decry all the excessive speeding and immature driving on our streets. It will only get worse.

Gov. Sam Brownback: Your experiment not only failed, but you blew up the lab. Now who’s going to clean up this mess?

Brownback says his tax policies are “growing Kansas.” If this is true, why not eliminate Kansas income tax on everybody starting July 1? Kansans know how to spend their own money better than the government.

I’m sick of the crybabies. I’m not aware of anything that prevents someone from being self-employed. Oh, wait – maybe it’s the 70-hour workweeks, no steady paychecks, no paid vacations or sick days, no employer-paid medical insurance or 401(k) matching.

Would Brownback please explain why he regulates physicians’ medical decisions, teachers’ bargaining rights and welfare recipients’ daily ATM withdrawals, but he vetoes the need for background checks for Uber drivers who also might be driving without proper insurance? Who’s his chauffeur?

Uber legislation. Governor’s veto. Governor’s friend becomes a lobbyist for Uber. Are there dots to be connected?

Too much freedom results in excessive winning and excessive losing.

The push to get big money out of politics is meant to impede only conservatives, not liberals, who get their own big money.

How low does a person have to be to buy a politician? When they look in a mirror, what part of a horse do they see?

Why does deodorant have an expiration date?
