Opinion Line Extra (April 29)
Someone said they couldn’t find anyone who voted for Bill Clinton. Now I can’t find anyone who will admit they voted for Sam Brownback. And that’s really saying something in a Republican state.
Brownback says “the sun is shining in Kansas.” Did he not see the storm clouds forming on the horizon? Did he not hear the rain, hail, thunder, lightning and gusts of wind? Did he not see the widespread damage the storms created?
I am a gun owner with handguns, shotgun and rifles, but I would not want to be a law enforcement officer in Kansas, a place where anyone might be carrying a loaded weapon, concealed or otherwise. It’s crazy. I would never have believed I’d live to see this.
With all the water, fertilizers, weed killers, pesticides, insecticides, etc., used to have a lush green lawn, just remember it is one of the worst things you can do for the environment.
Why is it when a liberal points out that a conservative is not following the word of God, that it doesn’t count?
Although I most certainly do not advocate their use, I firmly believe that things that are 100 percent naturally occurring should be 100 percent legal, such as marijuana, peyote, mushrooms and opium poppies.
I would rather die in a missile attack against my captors, knowing my country was trying to do something against terrorists, than wait around for them to cut my head off for a video.
For decades the United States has been negotiating with North Korea about its nuclear program without success. We have not been negotiating from a position of strength. This total failure should be a lesson in dealing with Iran. President Obama is attempting to put lipstick on a pig.
It seems Laura Bush is doing more as the past first lady than is the current first lady, who is taking food away from children’s lunches. News flash: They will just eat more when they get home, that is, if their parent or parents can afford it.
Every deal has a winner and a loser. With that in mind, are you fool enough to think President Reagan’s reverse mortgage industry is structured with the lending institution positioned as the loser?
Why do Republicans think the only good presidential candidates have to carry the NRA in one pocket and a vault load of money in the other, and utter slanderous remarks about anyone who doesn’t believe the way they do?
The “WuMo” comic strip is not funny, and gross. If that is the cartoonist’s purpose, the intent has been accomplished. However, I am even more offended that we pay good money for such poor humor.
