Opinion Line (Feb. 3)

Who in city government has a relative in the orange cone business? That has to be what it is. There is no other logical explanation as to why this place has been one continuous mess for the last 25 years.

It is ridiculous that the local, state-supported university’s basketball games cannot be seen unless you pay for a high-priced channel. Basketball and baseball should be available on public TV or common cable.

I can imagine Kansans praying for Brownback on his last day. But fasting? I don’t think so.

Why can’t all the arenas in the Wichita area get together on a bag policy and make a standard one? One arena has a no backpack rule, another allows some backpacks but not others. another doesn’t care what bag you bring in.

While billionaires and multimillionaires celebrate mega-million dollar raises under new Kansas and federal income tax plans, my small business LLC will pay a retroactive 5 percent state income tax increase. My employees know I can’t give anybody a pay raise.

Trump supporters knew that he would break records, and he did. He broke two, one for the lowest approval rating in the first year and another for the most lies (2,000).

So Trump is willing to accept almost 2 million DACA people and that is not enough for the Democrats? Oh, that’s right, they oppose the border security part.

Please, Democrats and Republicans, respect the president. He is different from other presidents, but he does want to make change to be better. Please do not fight anymore. Find a way to work together.

Watching this White House’s constant lying is like getting trapped on an early virtual-reality ride at Disneyland. The audio/video doesn’t jibe with reality and it makes you feel like puking.

Hearing Republicans and Democrats about each other is so frustrating. The only group that ever comes out on top is the extremely wealthy. We need more than two parties. Both of these stink.

I don’t like either of the teams in the Super Bowl, so I figure it’s as good a time as any to protest and not watch.
