Will Obama’s new attorney general continue one of his favorite “phony scandals” and supply weapons to criminals just to see where they wind up?

Manhattan (N.Y.) police collared a coyote with a tranquilizer dart. Makes me wonder why police sometimes don’t tranquilize their human suspects as opposed to defaulting to lethal force in situations when a tranquilizer dart would have worked. Ferguson? Baltimore?

Amazing – three top stories on Kansas.com Sunday were about people being held up at gunpoint in their cars, and we have people complaining about the new concealed-carry law. Hold me up in my car, and you can bet you will be the one who gets a surprise.

I am shocked, baffled, bamboozled, flummoxed, confounded, totally discombobulated – I simply cannot understand how we could have a rise in accidental shootings. My Kansas legislator-like conclusion? More guns! We need more guns!

Gun violence costs each one of us $700. The solution of some – make guns more available and easier to access. Then why not do away with all liquor and age restrictions and driving laws pertaining to DUIs, and increase society’s cost there, also?

Why doesn’t the governor go after alcohol instead of picking on smokers? Alcohol affects more lives than cigarettes. Taxing alcohol at a higher rate would bring in more revenue, if that is your goal.

Has anyone else wondered why Gov. Sam Brownback paid Arthur Laffer $75,000 for economic advice when he could have had free advice from any economist at one of the six state universities?

If Brownback is planning on enjoying a legacy, he will have to put the genie back in the bottle.

Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s explanation of his PAC’s name reminds me of clients accused of crimes who seek information at my law office. Some claim to know what the law ought to be. Some claim to know somebody who got away with the same thing, and think they should, too.

I’m waiting for Bill O’Reilly to write a book about “The O’Reilly Factor.” He can call it “Killing Truth.”

Have any of the folks at Central and Main thought about using the evacuated Dillons store at Meridian and Douglas? Lots of parking and lots of room. I am sure it would not cost what the 217 Building did, and renovation cost would be less.

Enough with the crybaby WSU women’s basketball team. Intercollegiate sports is supposed to be intense, which means a demanding coach. Look at the results of the previous three seasons. Other programs would be glad to have coach Jody Adams aboard.
