The development of driverless cars is well documented. The new, flow-stopping stoplight at Central and Nims tells me the city must also be aware of a lot of invisible cars driving on Nims Street.


James Thompson lost my vote with his provocative public “blood on its hands” comments about the Finch case. They were nothing more than campaign sensationalism. Someone who wants to represent the people needs to be part of the solution. His comments were anything but.

The cartoon published Monday about a Walmart employee receiving a bonus check was in bad taste and very disrespectful. Many families have been affected by loved ones killed by beheadings. Shame on The Eagle for publishing it.


A recent Opinion Line stated Democrats better pray for a better candidate than Oprah Winfrey to run in 2020. Why? The Republicans have shown us the bar is as low as it can go.


What’s with all these school closings at the first sign of frigid weather? If we started having the kind of winters we use to have back in the 1970s, would they close schools for two months? How wimpy can you get?
