So people want cops to change? How about people do what they are instructed to do when they are stopped? It goes both ways.
The city of Wichita “fixed” the streets in our neighborhood last fall. The “fixes” are already falling apart. We pay more than our fair share of taxes. Why isn’t the city held accountable for the substandard work of the company it subcontracted out to “fix” the cracks, gullies, gouges, etc.?
Every time I venture out I become more convinced that the worst thing that has happened to the U.S. – other than profits for the automakers – is the mindless “need” for these huge vehicles.
The time has come for Wichita to enforce the law against crossing the double yellow lines.
The entire western edge of WSU’s Braeburn Golf Course should be converted to student parking, with the Innovation Campus to the east of it. If not, it is more evidence that student convenience and safety are not priorities for those in charge.
Sedgwick County Commissioners Karl Peterjohn and Jim Howell are right. Local governments should not be puppets for Washington. They should be puppets for wealthy corporations.
The day my son became an English teacher, I cried tears of joy. Five years into it he loves teaching, despite the low pay and disrespect teachers receive, because in his eyes it’s all about the kids. Too bad our governor and Legislature don’t feel the same way.
If the FTC allows Teva to purchase Mylan (manufacturers and suppliers of generic drugs), there will be no doubt that the FTC is in the pocket of the drug industry, much like our D.C. legislators.
Some people say it’s time for a female president. I think it’s time for an honest, competent, ethical and patriotic president.
It continues to amaze me that people believe we were safe when George W. Bush was president. Didn’t the Sept. 11 attacks occur when he was president? That sure made me feel safe.
Sen. Lindsey Graham states Iran cannot be trusted. Has he forgotten the USA told the world that Iraq had WMDs and there were none? I love it when someone cannot see beyond the end of his nose.
Regarding those WMDs in Iraq that people keep saying weren’t there: How do you know they are not sitting “in wait” somewhere very well hidden?
Columnist Leonard Pitts seriously needs to get a life. Where does he get off saying everything wrong in the world is caused by conservatives? All he does is rant about racism and conservatism.
