Kansas tourism and government officials bringing back the Kanza people to Council Grove is one of the most intelligent things they have ever done (April 22 Local & State). It is true Native American history being restored. This is what people want to see.

How irresponsible of the City Council, in this time of financial crisis, to give a pay raise based on what other cities pay their managers. If council members worried less about keeping up with the Joneses, maybe we could make some headway. Pull your heads out and see the light.

Didn’t FlightSafety International carry disaster insurance on its building and contents? It should be able to collect damages from the company that caused the accident. Taxpayers should not have to provide corporate welfare benefits again.

“Ad astra per aspera” is the state motto of Kansas. I think it needs to be changed. I promote this motto: “Not knowing is acceptable. Not thinking isn’t.”

The failed Brownback experiment made Kansas the testing ground for so many bad conservative ideas that we should make the guinea pig our new state animal. Oh, and the rest of America: You’re welcome. Brownback’s disaster has discredited so much conservative thinking that your politicians wouldn’t dare follow his lead.

Poor state budget director Shawn Sullivan. He is like a little Dutch boy putting his finger in the budget dike leak. He is now running out of fingers for all the leaks.

The next time some academics tell you how important diversity is, ask how many Republicans or conservatives are in their sociology department.
