Opinion Line (April 22)

Being wrong about almost every foreign policy should not make you a shoo-in to become president.

Hillary Clinton is for equal pay for equal work, which, incidentally, is already the law of the land. Will she next come out against the draft?

Gov. Sam Brownback’s “shot in the arm” to Kansas is turning out to be a kick in the rear.

Gee, Legislature, how does it feel to have a commonsense law (the Uber regulations) vetoed by your boy Brownback? Now you know how reasonable people feel about all the horrible stuff you’ve gotten passed into law the past two years.

Why is ride-sharing any of the governor’s business? It seems like it is a job for the insurance commissioner to handle. The drivers are using their personal insured cars as a business and should be required to have additional insurance to cover the people riding in their cars.

Hello, I’m a gun. When empty or in a drawer, I’m useless. Even with ammo in me and safety on, I’m still useless. Load me and put me in the hands of a human, and then I am dangerous. So education, practice and safety should be mandatory for ownership.

Kansas legislators need to jump on this right away: Alabama is considering allowing teenagers to carry handguns. We’re losing the arms race.

Every time restrictive gun laws were relaxed in Kansas, the left predicted gunfights at the O.K. Corral, which never materialized. That’s because lawful gun owners don’t engage in gunfights, only criminals do.

I’m going to take an educated guess that the Kansas welfare recipients booking passage on expensive ocean cruises number about the same as the illegal voters that Kris Kobach has produced.

Why do parents blame teachers for their kid not learning? Did they ever consider that it is their kid, not the teacher, who is the problem? Apples don’t fall far from the tree.

No one’s denying service to people because they’re gay. But if businesses want to deny service to people because of skin color, sexual orientation or whatever, they should be free to do so, just as potential customers will be free to run them out of business via no patronage.

There is no such thing as “clean coal.”

A recent study showed that walking will increase our life span. But some credit must be given to our dogs, because when it comes time to take a walk they won’t let us forget.
