Opinion Line (April 18)

What’s the deal with these rogue cops who think they are jury, judge and executioner? Policemen need to police their own ranks. They are robbing honorable officers of public trust.

Doesn’t anybody wonder why all the black men getting shot are running away from the police rather than just saying, “I give up”? If you run away, you probably are scared because of what you have done. Being black doesn’t give you any more special consideration than being white.

This whole LGBT bully thing isn’t about gay marriage. It’s mostly about freedom of religion. Christians, not only do we need to support those who are viciously attacked by the left, we need to stop supporting the businesses enabling these bullies.

Tolerance of your intolerance is not tolerance.

Hillary Clinton is reaching back into her old bag of tricks for her 2016 presidential campaign. As reporters chased her Scooby van to try to ask her a question, they saw her new campaign theme printed there: “You’ll have to elect me to find out what my position is.”

My husband and I work long hours to pay for the basics in life. We haven’t been on a vacation in 20 years. And these “takers” in Kansas (welfare recipients) are taking cruises and going to casinos with their welfare bucks? Let’s cut the handouts.

Gov. Sam Brownback says the welfare reforms are designed to get poor people back to work. They are really designed to free more funds for his wealthy buddies.

I agree with deterring recipients of state-assistance funds from using them on cruises, massage parlors and tattoos, but I am concerned how we will enforce House Bill 2258. I can’t find information on what this is going to save us or cost to enforce annually.

So when the temperature is 105 degrees in July our governor thinks spending $3 per child at a city-owned swimming pool would be extravagant living by those getting assistance. Brownback is so far out of touch with everyday people in this state that it’s sickening.

The Kansas government should make hypocrisy the official state sin.

If mankind is so powerful and can change the climate of the entire world, why can’t we figure how California can use the ocean to abate its drought?

If marijuana were legal it would help all farmers, even farmers against legalizing it. If 5 percent of current farmers started to grow marijuana and/or hemp, there would be fewer farmers growing wheat, corn, soybeans, etc., raising the value of all crops.

If terrorists are so proud of what they’re doing, why do they hide their faces?
