Opinion Line Extra (April 16)
I read that Hillary Clinton is going to run for president. I hope it’s just a late April Fools’ joke.
It is not often we get a peek into what a presidential candidate would do as president. Clinton has given us such a preview, and it does not look good. The list covers her dismal record as secretary of state, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation fundraising, and the private e-mail server.
America suffers from recurring nightmares. We have made peace with the Clinton years. The Clintons have not made peace with us. One of them wants to be president so we are reliving the old scandal drama, just as if we had one more dream about going in public undressed.
I don’t understand how the news media lie down and let the Clintons run over them. Where is investigative journalism in the political process? Shame on the media for their partisan stance.
Wow, what a campaign slogan: “Vote for me. I’m a woman.”
When voting in the next presidential election, consider that as bad as Obama is, unemployment was down under the Obama and Clinton administrations. The economy and markets, including 401(k)s, were good. Deficits were down, with even a surplus under Clinton. Not so under Reagan and the Bushes.
So, Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas wants to bomb Iran. This is a good reason not to elect a Republican president. We will be in numerous wars within the first couple of years that we cannot win, just like Iraq. The rich will get richer while the poor die overseas.
The ATM charges are going to make banks more profitable now. Every time a welfare recipient withdraws $25 using their EBT card for rent money, banks rack up a charge. It must have been the idea of a bank lobbyist or Republican.
All state employees, educators, police and firemen need to expand personal hobbies to an LLC. Teachers could have a tutoring LLC. Others could have a security company LLC or sports memorabilia LLC. Even if you lose money, think of your tax benefits, which will make Gov. Sam Brownback squirm.
Feeling the need to carry a gun on your person each day may be a sign of deeper issues. It will not make you larger in stature, nor will it cure feelings of inadequacy or doubts about masculinity. You need not suffer alone. Please get professional help.
If there was an exploratory committee formed for Louie the clown, he could have easily won the mayoral race in Wichita. Instead they elected a puppet.
If it were about the money, WSU coach Gregg Marshall would have left years ago. If the criers are jealous of the money Marshall is being paid, they should get out of their armchairs and become winning coaches and go after the dollars.
