Moran, Huelskamp tout their first-quarter fundraising
It’s getting to be the time when any 2016 GOP primary challengers of Kansas’ congressional delegation might make their move. Not coincidentally, the campaign of Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., told the Washington Examiner this week that he raised more than $500,000 during the first three months of 2015 and has more than $1.7 million on hand. Similarly, the campaign of Rep. Tim Huelskamp, Fowler/Hutchinson, reported receiving more than $143,000 from January through March and having more than $605,000 on hand. Meanwhile, Milton Wolf, the tea partier who gave Sen. Pat Roberts a scare last summer, has stepped up his Twitter rhetoric against not only President Obama but also Moran, tweeting Wednesday: “Sen. @JerryMoran, do you still stand with Obama on #Cuba? Kansans deserve to know.” – Rhonda Holman
