Opinion Line (Nov. 20)

The majority of the opponents to Tyson’s possible processing facility reached that opinion by never visiting a plant, never hearing of innovations such as water recycling and air purification, but relying on the internet coupled with rumors mired in ancient history.

I think county commissioners should go look at the Tyson plant at Hays. I’ve driven by it three or four times, never noticed an odor, and it is an extremely neat and well-maintained facility. Put one just like it out by Vulcan and it would be a great fit for Wichita.

Unemployment at record lows, stock market at record highs and businesses are thriving. Pay down the national debt and save the tax cuts for a recessionary period. This new tax plan is a payback to the wealthy political campaign contributors.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Next time the Wichita police ask for money for more video cameras, I wonder what answer they’ll get?

Why is it that people who can’t walk and chew gum at the same time think they can eat breakfast, read the paper and talk on the phone while driving a car?

Since when are the rich some special kind of villain to be targeted for a disparaging difference in treatment? Billionaires deserve to keep their money as any other American does.

I see nothing wrong with “taking a knee” in protest, as long as it’s peaceable. Freedom is what so many young men forfeited their lives for. What offends me are the displays of unprovable superstitious beliefs.

Think the City Council’s cameras in their downtown bar district smell of Big Brother? There’s a very simple solution. Don’t violate traffic laws. Problem solved.

If liberals get their way against natural gas fracking and coal production, we might be heating and cooking with animal dung from the zoo — or the waste from the Tyson plant.

When did the legal system change? I assume now you’re guilty until proven innocent.

I’m thinking chicken-salad sandwiches.
