Opinion Line Extra (April 14)
If John McCain was too old for most to be elected president in 2008, Hillary Clinton is now way, way too old, too, unless you are a sexist.
Want to see the future under Hillary? Look to New York and California. One governor wants to fine you for long showers and the other wants to let illegals vote because they are underrepresented.
The radical left-wing economic policies of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Harry Reid have been a disaster.
Ronald Reagan was a transformative president, who helped America become great again. Barack Obama is also a transformative president, weakening America and seizing more of the citizens’ liberty.
I am truly grateful to have President Obama in the White House to clean up the mess that President Bush left us in.
Now that Joyland is being destroyed, how long will it be before one or more of our local politicians spews the political-career-ending idea that “what we really need around here is an amusement park,” and wants to tax us all for it?
More than 100,000 people die each year in America due to alcohol, yet it is legal. Those who would support marijuana’s continued criminalization are completely irrational. Those who would continue alcohol’s ready availability are complicit in those deaths.
Gov. Sam Brownback may not be a liar. It’s just that his view of reality is far different from what reality is.
When the politicians get me down and out in Doo-Dah, The Wichita Eagle comes to my rescue everyday. It mysteriously pulls me away from the 1950s atmosphere that surrounds us. And then I enter back into the “Brownback Zone.”
My income was the same as last year. My Kansas income tax increased $481 under Brownback. Since it costs $410 to fly the state’s Beech King Air, I should get a free round-trip flight from Coffeyville to Topeka. Rep. Virgil Peck could ride along free.
If Rep. Carolyn Bridges thinks welfare recipients are spending “their” money, she shouldn’t be in office. We pay for the needs of smokers, drinkers and people with sleeve tattoos so they have cash to get their wants. Americans on the dole live better than some of the world’s middle class.
Oh, Sen. Michael O’Donnell, your ignorance and naivete are showing. You try living on $25 a day – and that’s without all the government perks your job affords you, of course.
Because of moral objections, I would not cater a party to celebrate an unmarried heterosexual couple’s decision to live together. Does this mean I am a heterophobe?
I hope the next time the Carr brothers make the news, it is in the obituaries.
