Given a vision of Kansas’ future, complete with what Sam Brownback and his Legislature have done to it, Dorothy would likely choose to stay in Oz, scary monkeys and all.

The first Wizard of Oz said, “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.” Our present Wizard of Oz seems to live by that rule and makes no allowances for transparency in his or his administration’s actions.

Parents of school-age children may as well get prepared to home-school. It looks like teachers will leave and the state won’t have money to continue to fund schools, and it will be up to you to educate those children. The state is robbing your children of their education.

Lawmakers should make it hard for businesses like Uber. Wichita Transit is broke and needs the riders.

Mayor-elect Jeff Longwell: Please ask our city manager why there is apparently no budget to repair the potholes or sweep the gutters of my deteriorating residential street, yet there is funding for replacing new trees in the median on 29th Street North.

The city of Wichita isn’t too worried about having enough water or it would ban fescue.

I can’t remember – did the final draft of the ACA have death panels in it?

You just knew Hillary Clinton would scrub her private server after turning over the e-mails she wanted to make public. That was the whole point of having a private e-mail account.

The committee investigating Benghazi has requested Clinton’s e-mail server. She says that won’t happen and that she wiped the server. The common American cannot get away with this. It is time for Congress to act and charge her with the crimes she is committing.

What in the world are Texans thinking? There can no more be a Confederate war hero than there can be a Nazi war hero or an ISIS war hero. Those who fight for evil causes deserve no honor.

There should never be a question if it is OK for us to wear proudly an emblem of the USA. The flag should be worn with respect, and it should never be questioned. This is our country. Wear your emblem. Fly your flag, and God bless and love the USA.

It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. If anyone is decent to you, be decent back to them. Their lifestyle and appearance have very little to do with anything. For Pete’s sake, our children even know these things.

I found the insert “Pages of History” in the March 29 Eagle to be interesting. Too bad, though, the articles couldn’t have been printed in full size so they could be read.
