Opinion Line Extra (April 3)

A United Nations leader praised the terrorist group ISIS for their diversity. Talk about making lemonade out of lemons. I think their ingredients could be found on the ground in a cattle pen.

Obama released five Guantanamo detainees for Bowe Bergdahl, who is now charged with desertion. It is time for Congress to start impeachment proceedings, or Obama should be tried for treason.

Some Democrats claim they want “educated” voters. They’ll never get Hillary Clinton elected doing that. What they really want are sheep.

Republicans are the worst hope for Americans to live and let live together.

There is nothing Christian or Christ-like about discrimination and hate.

Why do we have a Kansas vehicle tag the states “In God We Trust”? Doesn’t this qualify as endorsing religion? Isn’t the government supposed to stay out of the religion business? I guess it is OK in Kansas. After all, we have preachers telling folks how to vote.

What do you call a conservative Republican legislator from Kansas with half a brain? Gifted.

Jeff Longwell’s bridge to nowhere is why he won’t get my vote. He supposedly supported straight up 13th Street, which was the only smart thing to do, but then they built ramps to help only two directions of traffic. Stupid city.

Isn’t one of the buffoons running for mayor responsible for the road to nowhere, where 13th Street meets I-235 in only one direction?

So Sam Williams is not your typical politician? Lies and mudslinging look pretty typical for a Kansas Sam. His ties to the Kansas Taliban are showing through.

When a pollster asked whether I planned to vote, my response was “definitely.” When she asked which mayoral choice I was likely to make, my response was “neither.” Then came the barrage of campaign literature and mud-splattering ads. Thanks, Sam Williams, for changing my mind. My plan is to vote for Longwell.

I made up my mind. If Bob Knight has given his full support to Williams, I will definitely vote for Longwell. If Williams will operate like Knight, we don’t need him. Besides, his ads have been half-truths and lies. Pathetic.

It’s been amazing to see the high regard WSU fans have shown for KU basketball. Their excitement at beating a long-established and highly esteemed team has been priceless.

KU fans are compassionate. We do feel sorry for the WSU fans being so jealous of KU that they have such hatred. Basketball is a game. Don’t take it so seriously.

A 30-5 record ain’t too shabby. Now it’s time for the Shocks to get in a competitive conference, so everyone in Wichita, Kansas and the world can see how good the team really is.
