Opinion Line (April 3)

As the elections approach, I urge everyone to consider their votes. Voting for incumbents is voting for the status quo, which means we keep moving backward. Voting for fresh faces will give us fresh ideas.

Sam Williams received the same packet of information about signs that other candidates received. If he was willing to break the rule about sign size, I see it as like his claim to still be a CPA – proof he is not trustworthy and won’t be a good, ethical leader of our city.

Jeff Longwell is right that this city needs someone with proven leadership. That’s why, with Longwell’s record, Sam Williams is the correct choice.

After fact-checking has proved Williams’ negative ads against Longwell are untrue, the ads continue to run. What arrogance.

Thanks to Bill Warren for reminding Wichita why we didn’t elect him mayor. His insertion into this year’s mayoral campaign is the perfect example of the kind of politics Sam Williams and so many others are concerned about.

Newspaper, radio, TV, Facebook, Twitter, blogs have all been mentioning Gregg Marshall. If all those people would vote in the mayoral election next week, it would be a record turnout.

Any team can shoot baskets. Any team can shoot free throws. But only one team has the best coach in America. Guts. Glory. Shockers.

WSU fans have endured mediocre basketball programs only to watch the program gain prominence and the coach springboard to a more prestigious program. Marshall not only has great knowledge of the game, he’s dedicated to helping WSU beat its “mid-major” stigma. Thanks for believing in us, coach.

The Alabama athletic director got played like a cheap fiddle. Marshall was never going to Alabama. He just used them to get a fat raise from WSU.

Politics and sports – what a waste of time and money.

It’s wonderful that Sen. Harry Reid won’t run for re-election. Now, if he would only leave before his term is completed.

Reid lied about Mitt Romney’s tax returns, now implying the end justified the means. Democrats justify the lie by saying all politicians lie. I guess they are correct, since Hillary Clinton is their candidate.

Obama is basically an Eisenhower Republican. This is how insane the Republican Party has become.

Love the Christians. Hate their hypocrisy.
