Opinion Line Extra (March 25)

The U.S. and the global economy cannot survive another shrub in the White House. Just say “no” to Jeb Bush.

I am convinced that we have a toddler in the White House and that Valerie Jarrett is the nanny.

Obama – killing America, one day at a time.

Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign can be summed up as, “Vote for me as the first woman president and you’ll never want another. However, ladies, you get to see Bill back in the White House.”

We need more strong, proven men and women in our leadership at all levels like Sen. Tom Cotton. Stand up and boldly be counted.

Can you image the amount of howling we would have heard if the Democrats had contacted the Iranians while George Bush was in office? But apparently now it is OK, because the Republicans don’t agree with President Obama.

The FCC wants to control the Internet but can’t even control loud commercials, which are against federal law.

The Justice Department said requesting that police officers write more tickets in order to create needed revenue is not within the spirit of good law enforcement. That applies to tickets written to people of any race, in any state or municipality, not just Ferguson, Mo. Who needs revenue? Not Kansas.

It’s disheartening when people say those who don’t subscribe to evolution are anti-science or ignoring the facts, when the precise opposite is true. There’s a reason it’s still called a “theory” – and, according to the scientific method, not a very good one. Science is not on evolution’s side.

Which is the correct order of adjectives – thieving, lying candidate or lying, thieving candidate?

The people want the marijuana issue on the ballot and they have followed the law to accomplish that. Apparently the state thinks it can now tell the people what they can and can’t vote on. What happened to “of and by the people”? Wake up – Kansas has become a fascist state.

I totally agree with a letter writer that Wichita governmental leaders are not progressive. It seems to be because the majority of citizens are not either, and keep voting them into place to keep the status quo. It is frustrating to live in a stagnant town.

Has anyone else noticed how attractive the backside of Gander Mountain is viewed from the river or McLean Boulevard? When is the city going to get busy destroying the rest of the downtown riverfront with more trashy offerings? Maybe we could get a salvage yard.

I strongly agree that Cirque du Soleil is amazing, and without using animals. No wild animal deserves to be kept in a small cage or on a chain and forced to do things that are not natural to it. Stop the abuse.
