State tax revenue drop is concerning

Though total state revenue collections in August were only about $4 million less than expectations, it’s concerning that individual income tax revenue was $11.1 million, or 6 percent, below estimates. That suggests that Gov. Sam Brownback’s income tax cuts may be costing the state more than expected – or still are not generating the promised economic boost. – Phillip Brownlee
