Opinion Line (Sept. 7)

Can anyone imagine the frustration senior military planners are under trying to read President Obama’s tea leaves?

We should tell Obama that ISIS is actually a group of Republicans. Then he would be a little more serious about trying to dismantle it. The only time he shows any passion is when he is demonizing Republicans.

For all the Middle East terror that Obama is allowing, he should have his unearned Nobel Peace Prize revoked.

I don’t like the way some people are trying to rush the U.S. into another war.

Greg Orman is like Obama – keeps telling us Washington is broken but gives no ideas on how he would fix it. Like Obama, he probably doesn’t have the first clue on what to do.

Pat Roberts’ landlord in Dodge City can put the senator’s recliner out at the curb. He’s not going to be needing it anymore.

Greg Orman is really a Democrat. Don’t do a protest vote for him. Roberts has been in way too long, but hold your nose and vote GOP. It’s our best shot to get rid of Harry Reid.

The first thing the new police chief should be receptive to is a citizens review board, one with teeth. Citizens should have a say in how they are policed. Prosecutors are too close to the police. They depend on them for their cases. No entity should be investigating itself.

The first thing on Wichita.gov is a link to 17 PDF files giving details of the sales tax plans for the four areas. The problem is almost too much information, instead of too little.

Since it’s rare to see more than four or five people on a large city bus, the City Council must want to increase the sales tax and spend millions of dollars on the city transit system so there can be just one rider per bus driver.

What if wind energy costs a few pennies more? It doesn’t pollute our earth, air or water. That’s the whole point. Get it? No earthquakes. No carbon emissions. No pipeline leaks. No cleanup costs later.

Paul Davis and his Lawrence crew of die-hard progressives have a tired, old message: Tax and spend, and don’t talk to me about responsibility and quality. Just “show me the money.” Kansas does not need to become another failed progressive “experiment.” We believe in personal rights and responsibility.

Where would Sam Brownback’s $700 million surplus have been without the nearly $468 million he has withdrawn from highway funds? Watch out, Kansas Turnpike Authority – he sees you.

The sky is purple in Kansas. Don’t let anybody tell you any different.

I noticed a sign at Walgreens offering pneumonia shots, shingles shots and whooping cough shots – all promoted to avoid said maladies. When, oh, when, will someone develop a “stupid shot”?
