Boeing the king of state and local subsidies

Boeing Co. received $13.4 billion in state and local tax incentives during the past 15 years, by far the most of any U.S. business, according to Good Jobs First, a watchdog group that tracks subsidies. South Carolina provided more than $1 billion in incentives to secure Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner assembly plant. Washington state has provided Boeing $12 billion in subsidies. Boeing also received $457 million in federal subsidies and $64 billion in federal loans. “Boeing is playing the subsidy game at all levels of government,” said Phil Mattera of Good Jobs First. – Phillip Brownlee
