Block grants for school funding – it seems the governor and the majority of the Legislature have devised yet another scheme for thumbing their collective noses at the Kansas Constitution.
How do you sue for more funding when the money isn’t there? People in our state don’t understand that when you’re broke, you are broke. Things have change. Yes, that means spending less and making tough cuts. Simple math.
We need to cut athletics, especially football, from Kansas middle and high schools. Then and only then will voters accept the need for more funding in our schools.
I’ve carried a gun for years now and never had to pull it. But I could in a heartbeat if I had to. Thank God for the Second Amendment and God bless America.
Rational thinking tells us that the dangerous individuals are already carrying with no permit. Allowing law-abiding citizens to carry without a permit will make the armed thugs think twice before randomly threatening harm or attempting robbery. Constitutional-carry is a plus.
Homicides, rapes and robberies increased in Wichita in 2014. The solution of the governor and legislators is more guns for everybody, and no training. Isn’t that like drilling a hole in a boat to let the water out?
The city of Wichita needs to have DUI checkpoints weekly during the day. Quit discriminating against the drunks on Friday and Saturday nights and instead catch the real hard-core drunks. Hint: Watch the liquor stores.
If President Eisenhower’s Air Force One plane is available, it is only fitting it be on display at the airport that bears his name. Much better than letting it rot out in the desert of Arizona.
What? Spending $250,000 to celebrate the new airport in Wichita? Totally ridiculous. A waste of money.
Why can blacks use the N-word, but when whites do it’s a big deal? Also, why are there all-black colleges but there can’t be all-white colleges? And what happened to freedom of speech?
Women outnumber men, so why are males stopped and arrested more than females? Sounds like gender profiling.
It’s pretty obvious after two years of top-notch records that WSU is penalized by the NCAA in seeding because of being in the MVC. It pretty much makes KU’s point about it gaining nothing by playing WSU or, for that matter, other power conference teams.
The Missouri Valley Conference does not get the respect it deserves. A new name should help. Suggestion: the Big Midwest Conference.
