Opinion Line (Sept. 4)
It is fitting that Gov. Sam Brownback has a road map in the age of GPS. How many trips to the service station will he make asking for directions?
Thanks to Brownback there is now something flatter than Kansas – Kansas’ economy.
The sun is shining in Kansas on the fat cats for sure. However, it is cloudy at my house, along with those of the many Kansans who lost their jobs due to Brownback.
I think Brownback may be a “Reverse Robin Hood” in that his tax plan seems to rob the poor and give to the rich.
Kansas was recently named the fifth-best state for educating our children and efficiently doing so. Paul Davis wants more money to go into the bucket for education, but as a typical Democrat would waste the money elsewhere.
Davis voted against increased school funding. Davis is not a solution. He is part of the problem.

Light ’em up. We have not had a better reason to declare war on people since World War II. This is not about oil or economics now. It’s about the worst form of human abuse.
Unfortunately, it is going to take another Sept. 11 to awaken many to how dangerous Obama’s passive foreign policy really is. Sometimes you have to stand up to a bully, whether you want to or not.
Liberals used to say George Bush “created” terrorists by fighting back against them. Obama is now learning that by not fighting back he has created many thousands more than Bush ever did.
The president has known about the developing ISIS threat for a year and has done nothing about it. Yet his administration has a grip on every school lunch menu in the land.
People in the U.S. are missing a few rungs in the ladder to donate money to an online fundraiser for anything. Two sites collected more than $430,000 to support a police officer. Wonder where the money goes.
So how many thousands of dollars will be wasted, er, spent on re-branding Wichita? Think of the lipstick that could buy.
I have seen highways built in Dallas during the time it’s taking to finish the upgrade to the intersection at Ridge Road and 29th Street North.
