Opinion Line (March 16)

Thanks to the 47 Republican senators for standing up for the Constitution. Any deal Obama makes with Iran puts Americans at risk. Do everything you can to keep us safe.

We have enemies all over the world. Now we have a new traitor to team up with John Boehner. Sen. Tom Cotton wants to make his mark.

Wow – the entire Republican group of U.S. senators is being led around by a freshman from Arkansas. I thought the Republican lemmings were only in Kansas.

If the senators would concentrate on trying to do their job instead of sticking their nose in the president’s job, things would run more legally and smoothly.

No one with an once of integrity can possibly believe Hillary Clinton’s explanation of her using a private e-mail account to conduct government business. We thank you for your service, Hillary. Now just go away.

Best political advice ever given and not taken: “Burn the tapes.” Second-best political advice not taken (yet): “Burn the server.”

Democrats should be aware that if Clinton isn’t convicted of a felony in regard to destroying her e-mails, then she has set a precedent for future Republicans at the top of our federal government.

I wonder where the war on law enforcement being waged by the president and Eric Holder will lead us.

Will Eric Holder rush to Ferguson to investigate the hate crime against the police officers? I doubt it.

Why is everybody in an uproar about constitutional carry? With open-carry being legal, the only thing we are talking about is if the gun is under the shirt or outside of the shirt.

Can I carry two guns under the new law – one concealed and one open-carry? I would be twice as safe.

There was a reason why Wyatt Earp made the cowboys check their guns with the sheriff when they came to town. These reasons are still valid today, despite what they try to tell you in Topeka.

The only difference between the Taliban and our own religious right is the guns. Oh, wait....

With his anti-elephant, anti-skunk and now anti-human health political rampages, Sedgwick County Commission Chairman Richard Ranzau should worry that if everything is done his way there might not be any living creatures left in the county to cast votes for him in the next election.

Really? Sedgwick County doesn’t need $327,000 in aid to help with anti-tobacco and teen sexual health? Just let those kids smoke and get pregnant. Who cares?
