We need ironclad laws guiding public figures in their handling of electronic materials, a law with consequences and punishment. Or, we could hire, appoint and elect basically honest people.
The scandal about Hillary Clinton’s e-mails was another one that President Obama found out about by “watching the news.” Don’t most presidents have daily briefings in order to stay on top of things in case they miss the 5 o’clock news?
Hillary Clinton makes Bernie Madoff look honest.
Two thumbs-up to Sens. Jerry Moran and Pat Roberts for signing off on the letter to the Iranian mullahs.
Had I known the GOP senators wanted pen pals, I could have given them addresses. They should have asked.
How come Gov. Sam Brownback and Rep. Mike Pompeo show up at GE Aviation in Winfield for the announcement of new work at the facility, but when Bombardier has layoffs, neither politician is present to make comments or offer the laid-off workers support?
What will Sam Brownback’s campaign slogan be when he runs for president? “I wrecked Kansas; let me do the same for America”?
It looks like the governor and his cronies (Legislature) have done an end run around the judiciary to underfund Kansas schools.
Unfortunately, there are those who have access to taxpayer dollars and have no public accountability. The demands on our local, state and federal public budgets increase every year. Elected leaders have the responsibility to allocate these hard-earned taxes as wisely as possible.
So the local artists can’t feed, house, insure or clothe themselves, and now I’m supposed to pay for it? The solution to that dilemma: Get a real job, like the rest of us, to support your hobbies.
If no tax dollars are to be spent on arts, then none should be spent on fish and game, local sports teams or any other cultural pursuit. Is this the nation we wish to live in?
Wichita needs attractions to visit year-round. A new aquarium on the river next to Exploration Place would be a great idea. Families need more to do here so they won’t take their dollars elsewhere.
Bruce Weber at K-State has got to go. He has not recruited well and does not have control of his players. K-State needs to get back to the days when the Cats were dominant.
I see Weber is on track with his normal coaching record – good the first couple of years, then downhill from there. I guess the K-State athletic director forgot to look at Weber’s history before hiring him.
