Opinion Line (March 11)

When all the trees are cut down, all the animals are dead, all the waters are polluted, and the air unbreathable, then you will find out that you cannot live on money.

Hillary is carrying on the Clinton legacy: Deny, then lie.

I find it amazing there is a war going on against concealed-carry by honest citizens, but no war to stop criminals from carrying concealed and killing dozens of people every day.

I still don’t see what problem Senate Bill 45 is trying to fix. Nor can I discern what “freedom” is abridged by requiring training and a permit. And if we’re going to disallow these gun permits, why not eliminate the need for driver’s licenses as well?

Good gravy, people – get a grip. Nobody is for “allowing just anybody” to carry a concealed gun.

I think Gov. Sam Brownback must have a strong arm from the way he throws everyone under that bus.

Common Core must go – teaching to the test, big government, unfunded mandate. It’s no coincidence teacher retirements are approaching double from four years ago. Call on the House Education Committee to pass HB 2292 without amendments.

Why do Republicans hate public education so much? Do they all send their children to private schools?

Like Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach or not, he is on our side.

Since Brownback and Kobach are taking Kansas back to the 1800s and are mimicking Arizona, will they end this disruptive daylight saving time?

The Democrats of Kansas are pondering how they can get back some power. Well, maybe just find Democrats with some common sense who don’t want to give the state away to slackers.

How about this John Bardo-like vision? Bulldoze Cessna Stadium and build a 15,000- to 20,000-seat basketball arena there. Then bulldoze Charles Koch Arena and make more parking.

WSU goes out every game to get things done, and then goes on to the next game. I’m sorry the Shockers lost, but they have nothing to be ashamed of. They are a high-class team and should be proud of all their accomplishments.

Win or lose, I love watching Shocker basketball.

Two pages on the Shocker men’s loss. Just a short story on the women’s win. How about a little respect?
