Opinion Line Extra (Aug. 28)

I never liked “The Wizard of Oz” either. When I was a child I would watch it because I felt like I was supposed to like it, but I didn’t.

The commentary criticizing Kansas voting laws was ridiculous (Aug. 24 Opinion). You need to prove you are a citizen before you can vote. Given that we have 11 million illegal aliens and countless legal noncitizen residents in the USA, it is not unreasonable to ask for this proof.

The current Kansas voter law is unconstitutional in that it assumes every Kansas voter guilty of lying about their citizenship until proved innocent by us showing documents that for the most part are already on file in state records easily accessible for free by Kris Kobach.

Now that Jean Schodorf has admitted she is actually a Democrat, she probably does want Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman fired so votes for Schodorf of voters who died will count in the next election. That way, she may win. Let’s hope she doesn’t. Get out and vote for Kobach. Save us.

Is anyone else irritated by having to copy your ID to send in with your mail-in ballot?

Paul Davis is not out of touch with Kansas, but he is interested in changing the current direction of the Sunflower State. At least we would not be mimicking some other state (Texas). States should have their own identity anyway.

So we’re supposed to believe the negative ads against Gov. Sam Brownback that come from a political party that is led by known liars? Grand examples are Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

If you’re of the middle class and you intend to vote for Obama-hating Republicans because you think they hate him for the same reasons as you, think again. Republican politicians hate Obama because he wants to help you, the middle class.

The Ferguson rioting thugs will not be satisfied until the prosecutor, judge and all of the jury members are card-carrying Black Panthers.

There was a time when we as country, by and large, chose honor over everything else. We have lost that. The best example is our president – callous, uncaring, detached. May I say despicable? Sadly, yes. He continues to amaze me by his lack of leadership, aplomb and integrity.

I suppose the person complaining about “foreign cars” doesn’t realize how many of them are actually made in the U.S. A Toyota Camry has more American-made content than a Ford F-150. Look it up. So go bash on a Ford driver next time.
