Opinion Line (March 5)

President Obama expects to reach a deal with Iran over nuclear capability. It truly will be a deal with the devil.

I assume all the Republicans in Washington who want a war with Iran will be the first ones to sign up to go fight that war.

Congress showed its true colors for Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech: more than 50 shades of yellow (Democratic lawmakers and the vice president), and the rest were red, white and blue.

How childish are the Democrats and Obama for not listening to one of our major allies.

We need a straight-shooting cowboy back in the White House who isn’t afraid of his shadow.

Instead of debating whether grocery and convenience stores should be allowed to sell alcohol, why not allow liquor stores to sell mixers, snacks and accessories? That should make everyone happy.

This should be interesting. First people can go buy their alcohol at the grocery store and then go play with the guns they are untrained to use. What part of stupid is this Kansas Senate? Let’s get these people out of there before a catastrophe happens.

I am an NRA life member. I am all for legal, informed and educated conceal and carry. To allow just anyone to carry a concealed weapon would be totally irresponsible.

Since the governor and his minions want to allow Kansans to conceal-carry guns without training or licenses, why would anybody want to risk their life to be a police officer? Or why would we need police, with all the firepower walking the streets?

The problem with gun control isn’t the NRA but the Second Amendment. The NRA only works to safeguard the rights therein.

The insanity “is that this bill allows carrying of unseen guns by untrained, unvetted individuals”? No, the insanity is that the Bill of Rights allows untrained and unvetted individuals to exercise freedom of religion and of the press.

Personal endorsements for political candidates are worthless. People are seldom the same in their personal lives as they are in their professional lives. No doubt Dennis Rader’s friends and acquaintances would have vouched for his character, and we all know the outcome of that story.

Who would have thought 45 years ago, when I married and took my husband’s name, that today I would be considered an illegal alien who is just trying to steal the vote because my name no longer matches my birth certificate?

Seeing the picture of an 11-year-old boy in Sunday’s paper shoveling snow, I knew it had to be the eighth wonder of the world.
