Opinion Line (March 3)

Here’s the best reason yet to go green, cut your carbon footprint, reduce your kilowatts per hour – doing so deprives ISIS of revenue. Oil money equals ISIS money. Simple.


Conservative critics of Obama will look like the JV when Hillary Clinton chimes in. How will the liberal media handle that? Very quietly, I bet.


I don’t know if President Obama loves his country or not. What is sad is that he has caused this conversation to carry on. Until now, I have believed that every president, good or bad, did love his country.


I guess I’m not surprised to hear more and more people say they don’t like Obamacare now that they have it.


When Walmart employees begin to form LLCs and contract their services to the company, it will be time for our state legislators to admit their “mistake.” Then on to the next plan.


As a lifelong Republican Kansan who grew up in a rural community, I am appalled by Sen. Jeff Melcher’s bill to raise farm properties’ taxes. It would jeopardize the entire farming and ranching community. He should try driving out of Leawood and empathizing with the farmers holding this state together.


I believe I felt safer when it was cops and criminals carrying guns than I will when it’s cops, criminals and untrained idiots.


Well, another chapter of Americana has closed as Spock passed into warp speed. Quite logical, Captain.


I attended a hockey game at Intrust Bank Arena. From where I parked, the most direct route to the arena was through the loading/unloading area at the transit station. I’m curious – does every bus ticket come with a pack of Marlboros?


The person who decided to hit a Canada goose on Greenwich Road and never slow down or stop is terrible. Its mate was standing right there. At least my husband got it off the road. We couldn’t help it. Whoever did that needs to be fined or something.


On Feb. 18 I left my purse in a motorized cart at Dillons at Central and Maize. Some kind person had turned it in. Thank you for the good deed.


Pluck your eyebrows out. Draw them back on. I don’t get it.


I’ll tell you what’s wrong with America. Tootsie Pops used to be a big, round piece of Tootsie Roll surrounded by a thin layer of candy. Now there’s but a smidgen of Tootsie Roll in there. Bummer.
