The first Air Force One, the plane that carried Eisenhower, is wasting away in Arizona. It should be at the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.
Anyone opposed to Senate Bill 84 should pay a visit to my old hometown, Gary, Ind., to see what happens when blight ends up destroying a city.
You would think those running for mayor and City Council would at least know the rights and wrongs for placing their yard signs.
Sam Williams is trying to have it both ways by not revealing how he voted on the recent citywide tax increase. Talking out of both sides of his mouth is not what we need in a mayor. We need straight talk, not political double-talk.
Shame on the mayor and City Council members who voted for razing the Naomi, Leona and Ellington apartments. All are on the National Register of Historic Places. Can’t someone save them? Put in an upscale boutique or bakery. What will they tear down next?
Let’s use a little more discretion on the use of the salt brine solution. Our streets, cars and water that runs off into our rivers and lakes are being directly affected. Then there’s the cost.
If you have an accident in 2 inches of snow, then you probably shouldn’t be driving at all.
The White House has really gone off the deep end if it thinks getting jobs for terrorists will discourage others from the horrific killing. The people who beheaded the Coptic Christians did so out of pure hate. The people who crucify children and rape women are not concerned with the economy.
A spokeswoman at the State Department said, “We cannot kill our way out of this war.” Funny, this has worked in all other wars. I suppose we can drop socialism on the terrorists instead of bombs.
I think I understand it now. When the jihadist draws back his sword, you offer him a job. He can use the sword to trim your hedge instead of lopping off your head.
The proposal to allow everyone to freely and openly carry guns, because some seniors can’t afford firearm training, is totally devoid of logic and mature thinking. If we want to become a Third World nation, however, that would be a good start.
The hubris of gay activists and politicians such as Rep. John Carmichael becomes even more laughable when they invoke the name of God as being on their side. I challenge him to read the Bible and campaign on the issue of gay rights in the next election.
Don’t like gay marriage? Don’t get one. Don’t like abortions? Don’t have one. Don’t like strip clubs? Don’t go to them. Don’t like guns? Don’t buy one. Don’t like your rights taken away? Then don’t take away someone else’s.
School districts have financial reserves that are meant to be used for major emergencies, not because our idiotic governor wants to cut school funding to make up for his inability to put together a proper budget.
Here’s a modest proposal for saving money in schools: Eliminate all school-sponsored activities that require the presence of an ambulance.
