Letters on violence, Greg Keith, abortion

We have to stop all this violence

As I wake up each morning, I stay in bed and I say my prayers. Then I gently get up and let my dogs out. Then I turn on the news.

It seems like every day it is “breaking news” about terror and death.

We need to do something. We live in the most wonderful country in the world. Why are we not respecting it?

It is getting too crazy here now. Black lives matter, as do white lives and Hispanic lives and Muslim lives and so on. All lives matter. All lives.

Love your children and your pets and your family. Be great to everyone. Be the first to say “hello.” Be a great neighbor. Live in faith and not in fear.

We have to stop all of this violence. We are a country of good, greatness, love, pride – not hatred. Not hatred.

Greta Finley, Wichita

Vote for Keith

I urge Sedgwick County residents to vote for Greg Keith for District Court judge on Aug. 2.

Keith has served the city of Goddard for more than eight years as municipal court judge. He has a proven track record of experienced, principled judicial service to many of the small cities in Sedgwick County.

As mayor of Goddard, I have watched Keith in court many times, and he treats everyone with respect and dignity. He is tough but fair. If it were me or any of my friends or family having to stand in a courtroom in front of a judge, I would want that judge to be Greg Keith.

Marcey Gregory, Goddard

Safe for whom?

Regarding “Abortions are safe” (July 9 Letters to the Editor): I bet several million babies would not consider abortion safe if they had a chance to vote.
