Ranzau for County Commission

Richard Ranzau is the clear choice for re-election to the Sedgwick County Commission. His dedication and work ethic have earned him the respect and trust of the people in District 4. They know he can be trusted to oppose wasteful spending so that hard-earned taxpayer money can go to important projects like the Joint Law Enforcement Training Center and the new tag office.

Republican primary voters should not be misled by the thousands of dollars spent on advertisements in support of Ranzau’s opponent by special-interest lobbyists. These same groups have already plundered the city of Wichita’s treasury to the point where city officials are considering closing public libraries, swimming pools and golf courses to make up for revenue shortfalls. Now, this elitist group seeks to elect a puppet candidate who will open the Sedgwick County treasury for their pet projects. Ranzau is the “roadblock” standing in their way.

Ranzau supports low taxes, private-sector job creation, and economic development for everyone, not just the politically connected.

Brewer for governor

It seems to me that The Eagle editorial board’s endorsement of Laura Kelly is a clear statement that it wants more of the same. Beyond the fact that she has been in the Statehouse for 14 years and is part of the body that is responsible for the current state of affairs, she has no real leadership experience.

To reduce Carl Brewer’s experience to mayor of Wichita shows your lack of commitment to facts, which is sadly the status quo for mainstream media outlets. Brewer was not only mayor of the largest city in the state, he was also a captain in the Kansas Army National Guard as well as a union steward, an executive at Spirit Aerosystems, one of the largest employers in the state.

Brewer’s leadership experience is proven and is what is needed the most in Topeka right now. He has the experience and knowledge to make the changes we need to turn our economy around and bring balance back to Kansas.

I would tell you to reassess your endorsement, but I know that it is probably bought and paid for, so I will just say shame on you, editorial board.

Ron M. Estes for U.S. House

Ron M. Estes has often been been confused with the other Ron Estes, but Ron M’s political beliefs are very different. Ron, a longtime family friend, is a moderate Republican who believes that a congressman should represent his constituents and district first, and not be a loyalist to the president.

The 4th District deserves better. Ron M. is a father, grandfather and an aerospace engineer who helped build the International Space Station. He is not an alternative, but is the best candidate. Ron wants to advocate for District 4 and will be responsive to his constituents.

Rep. Ron Estes for U.S. House

There are two candidates named Ron Estes in the Aug. 7 U.S. House 4th District Republican primary. It is important when voting that you vote for Rep. Ron Estes, the incumbent.

Estes has fought for our aviation industry, including stopping air traffic control privatization plans. These plans would have been detrimental to aviation.

President Trump needs allies in Congress in the support of manufacturing jobs and the needed training to do some of these skilled jobs. That is why grants for vocational training have been made available. One such skill is CATIA training, the 3D software used in the aviation industry. Individuals with CATIA training are in demand.

The challenger, Ron M. Estes, hopes you vote for him by mistake.
