The fifth-grade class at Andover’s Prairie Creek Elementary wants to fill up social media with kindness.

These kids think big.

They have other projects with their self-named Kindness Project, including giving up their class Valentine’s Day party to donate it to Wichita’s Littlest Heroes, which helps children with life-threatening illnesses.

More generally, the class wants to spread kindness through awareness and a project to involve classes around the country. Do good deeds. Go out of your way to help someone. Say something nice instead of hurtful.

All of us, especially those of us on social media, can learn from these fifth-graders. A happier and more well-meaning world starts with small steps and acts.

Check Prairie Creek’s #TheRoadToKindness Twitter feed for updates on the effort.
